Phlebectomy

Minimally invasive Phlebectomy

Surgical Specialists of Ocala, The Vein Center of North Florida

Do you have veins that appear large and rope-like? This type of diseased vein is not only ugly, but can cause pain, swelling, rashes, sores and other medical issues. If you have large, ropy veins, then we may recommend a minimally invasive surgical procedure called phlebectomy.

Phlebectomy involves completely removing the damaged vein(s). We accomplish this by making very tiny incisions (less than half a centimeter) and removing the vein in sections. Removing the diseased vein eliminates both the cosmetic and medical issues it once caused. Most patients say this procedure is painless and involves minimal recovery time.

This is a highly effective, minimally invasive procedure that is performed in our office on an outpatient basis. We use a local anesthetic to numb the area where we are removing the vein. No stitches are required and we will wrap a small dressing over the incision areas. You will need to wear a compression stocking for two-three weeks, but you will be able to resume normal activities after 24 hours.

If you have large, ropy varicose veins, then we will discuss this option in-depth with you during your consultation. Give us a call to schedule today!
